Clinics held at New Road Surgery are:
Lead Nurses - Anne Roberts/Linda Clarke
Appointments are available daily for all general nursing duties, e.g. dressings, removal of stitches, injections, ear syringing, smears and general advice.
Lead Nurse - Sarah Follis
You are asked to attend annually - please arrange a convenient appointment. Spirometry is a special breathing test that is done annually for everyone with COPD. Others may be asked to arrange one to assess your lung function. You will need to book a double appointment - the results will be available approximately two weeks later. If you feel your asthma or COPD is deteriorating despite your inhalers you can make an earlier appointment in the clinic. However, an asthma attack needs attention immediately - you should see a Doctor or Nurse Practitioner as soon as possible.
Lead Nurse - Theresa Fowler
We will send for you annually and you will be required to make 2 appointments. The first one is with our Health Care Assistants for blood tests. The second one is in the diabetic clinic where you will receive a thorough review with Theresa. The invitation letter will contain all the detailed information you need when making these appointments; please have this letter available when you telephone to arrange appointments.
Lead Nurse - Sarah Follis
We will send for you annually and you will need to book 2 appointments. The first is with our Health Care Assistants, who will take your blood pressure and a fasting blood sample - Information regarding this will be contained in your invitation letter. The second appointment is with Sarah, who will carry out a full annual review. If you are also on medication for high blood pressure (hypertension), Sarah may ask you to attend to have your B/P checked between your annual appointment. Should you have suffered a heart attack, stroke, or a severe angina attack and are admitted to hospital then Sarah will contact you shortly after your discharge.

If you are taking medication for high blood pressure (hypertension) and DO NOT HAVE ANY OTHER HEART CONDITIONS you should be seen every 6 months.
Any patient taking Warfarin medication for whatever reason must have their blood checked frequently (at least every 3 months). Housebound patients can have this done by the District Nurses.
Lead Nurses - Theresa Fowler/Isabel Hyde
This clinic is held weekly. The complete range of contraceptive issues can be discussed. If you are unable to attend the clinic one of our Nurse Practitioners will try to fit you in at a more convenient time. Patients from other Practices within Redditch and Bromsgrove must go to their own Practice.

The local Child Health will call your child when immunisations are due. Please remember to bring your 'Red Book' with you; a Health Visitor is also available to see you.
Lead Nurse - Theresa Fowler
Smear tests are undertaken in this clinic. The Health Authority will send for you when your next test is due. Women aged 25-50 every 3 years, Women aged 50-65 every 5 years (occ. aged 65+). Ring for an appointment - specific details will be given in the invitation letter.
Lead Nurse - Christine Cross
This clinic is only for the treatment of certain skin conditions following referral from a GP. We no longer treat warts or verrucas at this clinic.
This clinic is held weekly. We can discuss detailed travel advice and give any necessary vaccinations. Please arrange an appointment approximately 8 weeks before travel, giving us your planned holiday destination so that we can prepare detailed information prior to your visit.
